There are several kinds of Central Heating Systems that can be purchased in the market. Most of them consist of a set of heating radiators, a boiler and copper pipework.

People in the United Kingdom, Europe and some parts of Russia, hardly need an air conditioner because of the low average temperature. Many of us find proper heating a necessity; as a result most of the new homes being constructed today are built with a Gas Central Heating System.

As autumn fades and chilly winds begin to blow, homeowners turn to their Central Heating for warmth and comfort. Only then you can relax and feel cosy inside your house. So you want to be sure that your Central Heating System is dependable. You Central Heating System must give you the feeling of assurance that it is safe, simple to use with a long life.

Two kinds of Central Heating Systems are mainly in use; pumped/vented and sealed systems.

The most commonly used systems are pumped/vented Gas Central Heating systems. A pumped/vented Central Heating System includes components known as a feed and expansion tank to allow for the expansion of water as it is heated in the radiators. Your house gets hot water through the stored hot water tank, it also supplies heat to the heating radiators. Any water expansion that may occur due to heating is handled by the expansion tank. It is normally placed at the highest place of the house like the attic area, taking up space. The tank provides a dual supply of hot water and warmth for the house.

A pumped/vented Central Heating System is what most homes probably have, especially those built many years earlier.

A sealed system is now being used in the new houses that are being built. As the name indicates, a sealed system is a an enclosed system therefore no expansion water tanks are needed. There are no pipework or tanks also in the attic, the system is sealed in the true sense and it has its own advantages.

- The problem of freezing pipes is eliminated.

- No maintenance or repair work is required for the pipes and tank which would have been in the attic.

- The risk of leaks is decreased.

- The sealing off of the system eliminates dirt buildup, air locking and corrosion that often troubles open vented systems.

- Can be easily rinsed out under pressure via the main water supply.

All the required controls and safety devices are incorporated into the sealed Gas Central Heating systems. A sealed Gas Central Heating System uses water that comes directly from the main water supply. It feeds directly from the main water supply.

Separated from the sealed system by a diaphragm is a pressure vessel, which contains compressed gas; this vessel is responsible for managing variations of pressure in the heating system. The pressure in a sealed Gas Central Heating System is controlled by a valve that lets water out if the pressure becomes too high and opens to refill the system with water if the pressure gets too low.

Central Heating systems are a great way to keep your home warm, also they don’t cost you as much as the other systems would. They also provide you with complete control which is much more than other heating systems can say about themselves.
