The different variants of gas Central Heating gas fired boilers available

Different types of Gas Central Heating Systems are available in the market. Almost all these systems have a central heating boiler at the core, with pipework connecting it to heating radiators.

Whilst we need central heating systems air conditioners are not needed in the United Kingdom and Europe because of the average temperature throughout the year. That is why in the UK most houses built these days are constructed with Central Heating Systems fully integrated into the home.

With winter coming up round the corner heating should be at the front of your mind. You can make your home more comfortable, pleasing and relaxing by heating it with Gas Central Heating. So you want to be sure that your Central Heating System is dependable. It is essential to have peace of mind that your Gas Central Heating System is not only practical to use but also safe.

Two kinds of Gas Central Heating Systems are mainly in use; pumped/vented and sealed systems.

Pumped or vented Central Heating systems are most popularly used. A pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System includes components known as a feed and expansion tank to allow for the expansion of water as it is heated in the central heating radiators. Hot water from the storage tank supplies your kitchen and bath while also heating up the central heating radiators. When the water expands as it is heated the expansion tank allows for this. The tank is placed in the highest place, normally the loft area. It heats the house and doubles as the water supply.

A lot of older homes have pumped/vented Central Heating systems.

A central heating boiler system that is somewhat newer and more modern and that most people are choosing nowadays over the pumped/vented Gas Central Heating system is the sealed system. A sealed system, as the name suggests is a closed system so no water tanks are needed. There are no tanks or pipework in the attic, the whole system is sealed, its unvented, which has its benefits:.

- As there are no pipes, they cannot freeze up in the loft.

- No maintenance work on the tank or pipes that would be in the loft in a pumped/vented system.

- The risk of leakage is decreased as there are fewer pipes and the system is less complex.

- Reduced risk of airlocks, corrosion and sludge as there isn’t a chance of air being drawn down into the system through open vents as the system is sealed.

- Can be flushed out under pressure if needed by the mains water supply.

A sealed Gas Central Heating System is a packaged unit with all the necessary controls and safety devices. The sealed system gets its water through the main water supply at pressure. It feeds directly from the main water supply.

Normal variations of pressure can be allowed in a sealed system through a pressure vessel that contains compressed gas; this is separated from the sealed system water by a diaphragm. If the pressure becomes too high in a sealed Gas Central Heating System; a safety valve will allow water to escape from the system and if the pressure drops too low a valve will open to refill the system with water.

Gas Central Heating Systems are a worthwhile investment as they have the lowest cost of performance when compared with other types of heating. And they provide you with much more control and choice when it comes to your heating compared to any other systems.
