Households have different types of heating system
There are a number of sorts of Central Heating Systems on the market these days. Most if not all of these Gas Central Heating Systems comprise of a boiler, some heating radiators and connecting pipework.
People in the UK, Europe and some parts of Russia, hardly need an air conditioner because of the low average temperature. Central Heating is more in demand particularly in the chilly wintertime, making a Central Heating System an absolute must-have for all modern houses and all those located in the United Kingdom.
As autumn fades and chilly winds begin to blow, homeowners turn to their Central Heating for warmth and comfort. A heated home has a comfortable and enjoyable feel to it. This security in winter is possible only if your Gas Central Heating System is infallible, well maintained and running efficiently. A good central heating system should inspire confidence, give value for money and be simple to operate.
Two kinds of Central Heating Systems are mainly in use; pumped/vented and sealed systems.
The most commonly used systems are pumped/vented Gas Central Heating systems. An expansion tank is present in a pumped heating system. The hot water tank performs two functions; firstly, supply hot water to your house, and secondly, provides heat to the radiators. The expansion tank has adequate space to accommodate any water expansion that occurs due to heat. You will most likely find the expansion tank kept in the highest part of the house. The tank provides a dual supply of hot water and warmth for the house.
A pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System is what most homes probably have, especially those built many years earlier.
The sealed Gas Central Heating system is one that more and more people are opting for these days. A sealed system, as the name suggests is a closed system so no water tanks are needed. There are benefits to have this closed type of system with pipework and tanks being unnecessary.
- Frozen loft pipes are no longer a problem.
- There won’t be any repair work on the tank or pipes which will be in the attic for a pumped/vented system.
- Because the system is not vented, there is less chance of water leaking out.
- Reduced risk of air locks, corrosion and sludge as there isn’t a chance of air being drawn down into the system through open vents as the system is sealed.
- The main water pressure can easily be used to flush out a Sealed system for easy upkeep.
The sealed Gas Central Heating system is a fully packaged system with all the controls and safety devices already in place. The sealed system gets its water through the main water supply at pressure. The main water supply feeds the system directly under pressure.
Pressure variation can be regulated by a pressure vessel holding compressed gas; the hot water is pressurized by a diaphragm which also separates the water from the compressed gas. A safety valve will let water to escape or fill up depending on whether the pressure becomes too high or too low respectively.
Overall Gas Central Heating Systems offer more value for money as compared to alternative heating systems as they can be very efficient. They also provide you with complete control which is much more than other heating systems can say about themselves.
