Combi heating boiler storage space saving advantages
Combi heating boiler storage space saving advantages
If you are about to fit a new heating boiler you should consider a combination heating boiler if you have a shortage of space. With just a combi heating boiler and balanced flue you have all the components you need to put in a full central heating system. Add in radiators and copper pipes and you are then able to warm your house. You could be stunned by this and ask whether we had left out some component parts. What about the water pump, the hot water storage tank and the feed and expansion cylinder.
These component parts are not called for by a modern combi heating boiler. You can leave out the hot water storage tank, there is no call for for an attic based feed and enlargement tank, and the other smaller pieces are already built into the heating boiler. Adopting this system means you can save a substantial amount of room.
Combi heating boilers are not a new boiler design. They have a longer history in Europe but have now become the most popular gas boiler in the United Kingdom. By comparing with traditional boilers you will see that there are two main differences. On the central heating side you still have a fully pumped system but all the heated water which circulates around is sealed in. This removes any demand for a feed and expansion cylinder in the attic. Incorporation of a hot water storage vessel within the gas boiler also removes any requirement for the hot water storage tank.
Hot water is produced as you need it, the boiler is aware of this when you turn on a hot water valve. And cost-effective integral heat exchanger enables the boiler to rapidly heat and cold water. Water from the sealed central heating circuit is heated and is diverted to the hot water heat exchanger heating it up. In this way fresh mains cold water is quickly heated before reaching the hot water valve.
Automated priority is rendered to the need for hot water over water being rendered to the radiators to heat the house. The radiators are provided with hot water once the valve is shut.
As a consequence you should give critical thought to installing a combi gas boiler for your next renewal heating boiler.
